Tea Cup Yorkies? - The Ugly True!

So  many people love the look of a Yorkie puppy/dog, but must of the time with these small breeds (Yorkie, Chihuahua, Pomeranian) what it catch most of the attention is the "size". Well depending in why do you want a dog for?... it is for a company? loving pet? or just a fancy accessory add to your outfit?
My Tico weight 5 1/2 lb and I'm still able to take him in a purse, because he "wants" to be taking out.
Yorkies are a lot sociable dogs, they need to be with someone most of the time. They are not the kind of dog that you can just leave alone all day while you're working.

And going back to the so call "Tea-cup Yorkies" "Micro Tea-Cup" you see them advertise all over the places for prices range from $2000 up to $6000!! Well let me tell you before we got into breeding Yorkshire Terriers we did a lot of research about it and find out that there is NO such thin as "Tea-Cup Yorkies"
In Fact the "American Kennel Club" as well as all well known Yorkshire Terriers Breeders state as a rule (Pure Pedigree and Show Dogs) that a Yorkshire Terrier adult should weight between 4lb and 7lb it could happen that sometime in a litter underweight puppies are born but there is no reason why to sell them for more price, instead they have to be carefully check for the many diseases and complication the dog may have for being so tiny, then fix the dog and find a responsible owner how can take care of any medical bills in the future.
Another fact is the size of the parents and grandparents, tiny size goes on their blood line, generally the male has to be the small one if booth parents are or come from parents under 4lb its most likely they will be having tiny puppies, that will be ok as long as the puppies are in a good health. Females under 4lb Should not be use for breeding.
We know for a fact (a friend of us who use to breed chihuahuas and other friends who had experience as Teacup owners) that there is no guaranty for a tiny teacup their spare live could be from "one week" to 5 years. A lot of sellers offer a year guaranty but after that you're in your own!, ended up paying so much money for a doggie that won't live long enough.

But don't just listen to me! here is an Article from a Professional and well known Yorkshire Terrier Breeder, Please make some time to read the full Article and the Tea-Cup's Diseases as well. Also check on his site as They have vital information in all concerning to Yorkshire Terriers. One of the Best sites for Yorkies  I have found:
